Android in the smart phone market share is very high, has a rich selection of models. For Android users how to manage device security, protect their privacy. Here are several effective ways, we may wish to refer to:
Use the screen lock
Do not ignore the most basic screen lock function, although this is the most basic security measures, but simple and effective. According to survey data show that 34% of Android users do not set the screen lock, which is obviously a very big security risk. Although malware, backdoor great harm, but do not ignore the most basic security measures, because if the phone is stolen, at least the user information will not be easily leaked. Set the screen lock is very simple, and each Android phone support, as long as the settings - security - screen lock project can be.
In addition, the need to pay attention to set the password to use strong passwords, simply do not set "123456" or "password" this simple law of weak passwords, refer to some websites or account registration password rules, the password contains irregular numbers , Uppercase letters and lowercase letters, at least 8 characters, is relatively safe.

Device encryption

Screen lock is only a very basic protection measures, if you want to make local data more secure, may wish to use more sophisticated encryption. Android itself already provides data encryption, support for mobile storage and external storage, if you want to encrypt the data on the micro SD card, you need to spend some time. Encrypted data only need to enter the Settings - Security menu, select the relevant option.

Android Device Manager

Android also has similar iPhone "find my iPhone" feature, this feature can be bound to the device and Google account (or mobile phone manufacturers own account), in the case of mobile Internet access, you can manage through the site, including viewing geography Location, lock or delete data in the case of lost mobile phones can play a role.

Use Android VPN

Using a public WIFI network in public places poses a risk that exposes the device to an insecure network environment and is hacked and tracked. Effective way to solve this problem is to use the VPN the Android , the device IP does not directly connect to the network, but first connect the terminal server, which means that in the same public network devices you can not get real information for network intrusion protection is a certain effect, currently on the market of high-profile easy to use Android VPN should be: FlyVPN, use interested can search.

Use encrypted communication services

Many Internet communication software provides a better data encryption mechanism, such as Skype, use them to send Internet messages is relatively safe. As for non-network messages, you can download some encryption software to achieve a more secure send and receive.

Learn about app permissions

Early Android garbage or Trojan applications, is not perfect through the application of the mechanism of authority, resident in the background for espionage, such as a flashlight applications need information and Internet permissions, is undoubtedly very unreasonable. Although this situation has improved, but still have to be careful with some ulterior motives of the application, so download and install applications, we should try to select a reliable application store, and carefully check the installation permissions. In addition, if you feel the phone is no reason to slow down or often pop-up spam push, you can enter the Settings - Application - Permissions project to troubleshoot.

Antivirus and protection applications

If you often download some applications from the Internet, then install antivirus and protection applications is still very necessary. At present, Android field has a lot of security software, you can achieve virus killing, garbage and Trojan horse application troubleshooting and other functions to ensure the safety of equipment.

How to Send Any File Through Whatsapp or Messenger (any extension)

sendaanyfile phonegear.tech

Whatsapp has been the most used Instant Messenger in India for quite a while. It has eliminated the use of typical phone messaging. Time to time, Whatsapp got updated with major as well as minor updates making it a must-have app for every phone. But still it has got its limitations. Whatsapp still lacks many features that its rivals like Telegram messenger or Wechat provides. There is no limit in the number of members that can be added in a telegram group. Users can also send any type of file through Telegram whereas it is limited in Whatsapp. Wechat has the option to send and receive money virtually from any user(currently in China). Whatsapp also compresses the images and videos ruining the quality of the fie. But still Whatsapp is more popular than these messengers mainly because of its large user base, its light data usage and its ability to run on any device without using much resources.

An Indian developer has come up with an app that eliminates these drawbacks of Whatsapp. With it you can send and receive any type of files through Whatsapp. However the other person should also have the app installed in his phone to receive the file. The way the app work is simple. It renames the selected file to .doc file and receives the original file at the receiving end. This app also supports Facebook messenger as well, brilliantly making file sharing possible through Messenger.

Verdict :

Compression of images were always an issue with Whatsapp. Although it is meant to make the sharing fast, it changes the original image quality. Using this app will eliminate this issue in Whatsapp and Messenger as well.

How To: Hide Root in Android Nougat

You wouldn't be here if you don't know what root in Android is. So that saves me from explaining what rooting is and it uses. But for those who are not aware, Root is something that gives wings to your device.

Some apps don't work if the device is rooted. Mostly Banking and other Financial apps including some Wallet apps. This is because the apps contains sensitive information of the user and other apps with root access may/can have access to it. Rooted devices will have security and privacy concerns no matter what you so to secure it. There used to some great workarounds to bypass this problem. Like if you were a pro-user with Xposed / Magsik installed, you could install a module called RootCloak. For other users Hide My Root and SuHide were good options.  But most of them seems not to work now as Android has gotten better with new updates and APIs. Google has given major updates to its SafetyNet API and is mandatory for every developer to use it in apps. Many apps now uses this API to detect rooted or modified systems.
The one that did the job even on my Android 7.1.2 Nougat is Hide Rooting Lite. Its a small app which is just 2 MB in size and does the job pretty well. For me it worked on both 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 android.

How to use:
There will be a big power button in the opening window. Press it and a it turns blue. That's it and  you are good to go. Minimize  Hide Rooting Lite and your banking apps will work on your device from now.

FIX: Play Store Not Working After Using Freedom App

Freedom is an app that tweaks games and apps in Android to make in-app purchases free off cost. It is supported in all of the available Android versions. But sometimes after using freedom, google apps stops working. Chrome was okay in my case but Playstore and YouTube stopped working.
There are a bunch of methods available to solve this problem. This post features the best two out of all. The first method seemed to work on all the devices that i tried. You can try on all methods until your Play store work.

  1. This is the easiest one out of all. The problem must have started because you have force closed or cleared Freedom from task manager while it was running. So to solve the issue, open Freedom app, you will see a loading screen indicating that some processes are starting. Now you need to press options ( three dots in the top right corner) and press Stop. This will stop all the processes and freedom stops. Now exit the app and your Playstore and all other Google apps will be working.
  2. This is also an easy method but requires root permissions to access the phone's system files. Open any file manager that supports the option to browse system folders. Navigate to system/etc, scroll down until you find a file called "Hosts". Simply delete that file. Now your Playstore will be up and running.
That it folks, if you have a better option than these or if you have encountered with a problem, do comment below.
